Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Emotion Diary mobile app handles information. It applies to the app, not to unrelated third-party websites or services.

1. Diary data and device storage

Emotion Diary is a local-first app. Diary entries, moods, notes, profile information, and app settings are stored on your device. The app does not send your diary content to servers operated by Emotion Diary and does not provide accounts or cloud backup services.

Storage protection depends on the app version. The published iOS version 1.0.30 stores diary and profile data in an earlier local format that is not encrypted by the app. Do not assume that every local copy is app-encrypted. Your device's operating system and security settings provide separate protections. An app PIN is not a substitute for securing your device.

2. Advertising and privacy choices

The app may use Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to show advertisements and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to manage advertising privacy choices. These services may process IP-based approximate location, device or app identifiers, ad and product interaction information, and diagnostic information such as crashes and performance. This processing is separate from storage of your diary content on the device.

The app uses UMP to check whether ads may be requested and may present privacy choices depending on your region and consent status. The availability of an Advertising Privacy Settings entry point can vary by app version and region. Even non-personalized ads may use identifiers for purposes such as frequency capping and aggregated reporting.

The app does not include Firebase Analytics.

3. Retention and deletion

Emotion Diary does not retain a copy of your diary content on its servers, so we cannot access, recover, or remotely delete it. You can remove locally stored app data through your device's system settings or by uninstalling the app. This may permanently remove your local diary data. Any backup, restoration, or secure-storage behavior is controlled by your device and operating-system settings.

5. Security

App-level encryption is not present for every local copy in every published version, as described above. Keep your device protected. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data may permanently remove your diary, and we cannot recover a server copy for you. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app's data practices change. The current version and its update date will be published on this page.
